GOT WOOD?

Thank you for your interest in GTB’s locally sourced, seasoned firewood.

We are currently sold out of Winter 2024-25 stock.

We give priority to established clients and limit sales to one load, per client, per year.  As is best practice for firewood distribution we restrict delivery to Durham, with priority given to addresses proximate to zip code 27713.

Small batch firewood made with great love

A labor of love, our process is time intensive.  We are able to produce about 12-15 loads of seasoned wood annually.

We repurpose the rounds of hardwood species such as oak, maple, and ash gathered in close proximity to our woodlot.  Using a 37-ton wood splitter, we produce pieces of varying lengths, widths and depths.  We then stack the wood outdoors to be dried by the sun and wind for a minimum of six months.

We deliver and stack by the full or half-load.  A full load is equivalent to ~240 pieces, or about 1/3 of a cord.  A half-load is comprised of ~120 pieces.  Each batch is hand-counted to ensure parity and a mix of species and wood sizes.

Earth trees, clever conduits,
gather and store the sun’s energy
to release as green leaves or fire:
in our woodlot,we become
alchemical agents.

Where else to locally source

We are not affiliated with these vendors.

They may, or may not, have stock available.

Most vendors have a limited delivery radius.

Some vendors sell kiln-dried wood, some may sell unseasoned wood.

For more information, contact each vendor directly.

— For folks in Southwest Durham or its close-environs, we recommend contacting our neighbor Bob at 919-516-3158. He delivers and stacks split wood for $145 per pick-up truck load.

— There is a firewood stand for self-pick-up in varying volumes where Carpenter Fletcher Road ends in a t-intersection with Old Alston Avenue at 4201 South Alston Avenue, Durham, NC 27713. This location is diagonally across from Braille’s Bar.  The wood often appears to be unseasoned, but could be stacked and dried before use.
